- PAHRUMP, Nevada - Henrietta Maria Charlotte Bishop, 94, a former resident of Muscatine, died on Friday, January 28, 2011, at her daughter's home in Pahrump, Nevada.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the Zion Lutheran Church. The Reverend Don Sondrol will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be Ryan Hartsock, Robert Hartsock, Rick Hartsock, Randy Ziehl, Ronald Ziehl Jr., Aaron Reid, and Randy Hartsock. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Henrietta was born on December 22, 1916, in Fremont, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred Edward and Mathilde Amelia Karoline Krueger Peters. Her first marriage was to Harold Henry Ziehl on February 19, 1937, in Grand Island, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1967. She married James Albert Middleton on March 10, 1951, in Rock Island, Illinois. Her third marriage was to Oscar Earl Bishop on December 6, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1978.
She had worked as a waitress for various places, a nurses' aide at nursing homes, as a clerk at Grants Department Store until they closed the store, as a sorter at McKee Button Factory, and for Thatcher Plastics. She retired at the age of 67.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion Lutheran Church Women's Group.
Those left to honor her memory include a daughter, Jean Markwell and husband, Raymond, of Pahrump, Nevada; a son, Ronald Ziehl and wife, Kerry, of Muscatine; two step-daughters, Helen Snider and husband, Glendell, of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Glenda Hartsock of Muscatine; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Peters and wife, Beatrice, of Waupaca, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one son, James Middleton; a step-daughter, Norma Thornton; and two brothers, Milfred and Albert Peters.
