Deceased Name: Harvey A. Dodson Harvey A. Dodson
79, of Athens died Sunday at St. John's Hospital.
He was born in Marshfield, Mo., the son of Lillard and Ethel Catlin Dodson. He married Dorthea Kalb in 1936 in Springfield.
Mr. Dodson was a veteran of World War II and a rural letter carrier before his retirement. He was active in horse shows and served as the barn announcer for the Youth Charity Horse Show. He also announced for the World Mini Horse Championship Show and has called classes for the Solid Gold Futurity. He was a member of the Bar M Range Riders.
Survivors: wife, Dorothea; a son, Gary Allen Dodson of Athens; a daughter, Judy Meinders of Springfield; four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene Dodson of Springfield; a sister, Shirley Grandan of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Bisch and Son Funeral Home, Dr. Roger E. Compton officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park.
