Virts, Robert Stanton
Rose: 81, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Clifton Springs Hospital. Robert "Bob" Virts was born on April 6, 1931, in Barnum, Maryland. He was the oldest of nine children born to Stanton and Genevieve Virts. Robert served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. During his lifetime, he was a barber, fruit farmer, bank manager, Town of Rose Supervisor, Justice of the Peace, and a member of the Rose Masonic Lodge.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Raymond, Donald, John, and Randy. Robert is survived by his wife, Miriam; 4 children, Pamela (Scott) Cooper, Barry (Sandy) Virts, Michael (Jill) Virts and Kim (John) Borden; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Wanda Morris, Joann (Roger) Knapp and Janet (Dale) Murphy; brother, Ronald (Barb) Virts; sister-in-law, Shelda Virts and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Friday (July 20) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St., North Rose. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday (July 21) 11 am at the Alton Tabernacle Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rose Ambulance, P.O. Box 63 Rose, NY 14542, in his memory.
