      Mary Ashley Castello Daniel, 89, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Beda to the late Rufus and Ella Bennett Ashley. Aside from her loving parents, she also was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Castello, who passed away in 1975; her second husband, Don Daniel, who passed away in 2011; seven brothers; and a close childhood friend, Waltrude Himes.

      She was a longtime member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Owensboro where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Club. She was devoted to her family and church. She enjoyed knitting and gardening in her yard.

      She is survived by two children, a daughter, Brenda Joan Graham (Braxton) of Virginia Beach, Va., and a son, John Castello (Brenda) of Fordsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.

      Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Beulah Church Cemetery in Beda with the Revs. Tim McGuire and Ray Estes officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro.
