  Roanoke Times, September 6, 1994 Homer Franklin Johnston, 80, of Salem, died Monday, September 5, 1994. Surviving are his wife, Bertha D. Johnston; his stepson and wife, Kenneth W. and Betty J. Blount, Salem; his grandchildren, Curtis W. Blount, Charlotte, N.C., Kim Brown, Salem, Colleen Trail and husband, Charles, Roanoke; his great-granddaughter, Stephanie Smith, Salem; his sister-in-law, Almeta Johnston, Salem; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew and wife, Jerry and Dee Light, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Salem Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 1994. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park.
