    • Mrs. Grace Wilhelmine Speak, 71, of 12456 Woodsboro Pike, Keymar, died Saturday, June 19, at Frederick Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

      She was the wife of Robert L. Speak. They were married for 21 years.

      Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Frederick County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Reese and Doris Davis Beall.

      Mrs. Speak was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Utica, where she was a member of the Women's Adult Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren.

      She was active in dairy farming all her life.

      Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Doris R. Crum and husband Carroll, near Keymar; two sons, Larry W. Rippeon and wife Marilyn, near Taneytown, and Marvin E. Rippeon and wife Linda of New Midway; two stepsons, John R. Speak and wife Liz of Detour, and Steven L. Speak and wife Janice of Ladiesburg; two brothers, Robert Beall, near Libertytown, and Roger Beall of Lewistown; 10 grandchildren, Dawn Green, Kristie, Amber, Amanda and Alex Rippeon, Karen Haines, and Joseph, Stevie, Matthew and Eric Speak; and five great-grandchildren.

      Mrs. Speak was preceded in death by one son, David A. Rippeon Jr.; and three brothers, twin Grason, and Frederick and Fountain Beall.

      The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 21, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro.

      Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Utica. Mrs. Speak's pastor, the Rev. Robert S. McEllroy III, will officiate.

      Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Libertytown.
