Iva Lee Ellis, 91, of Leisure Years Nursing Home, died there Friday, Oct. 29, 1994. She was born in Daviess County, a daughter of the late Oscar and Bessie Fuqua Baize, and was a member of Peoples Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ellis who died March 18, 1967; a daughter, Juanita Casey, who died in 1989; a stepson, Albert Ellis Jr. who died in 1968; a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Ellis who died in 1952; and two sisters, Mildred Alford and Billie Blaine.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Ellis, William Hamilton and Carl Hamilton, all of Owensboro; two daughters, Louise Levine of Levittown, N.Y., and Bessie Stage of Owensboro; a stepson, Norman Ellis of Owensboro; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Haley of Owensboro and Mary Keil of Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Peoples Baptist Church, 700 Wing Ave., Owensboro, Ky. 42303. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
