      Mr. James Earl "Jim" Bolyard, 72, of Brunswick, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at his home. He was the husband of Mrs. Gloria Shaff Bolyard, who were married for 26 years.

      Born in Grafton, W.Va., on July 27,1935, he was a son of the late Homer and Audrey McDonald Bolyard. Mr. Bolyard had started working first with the Bowers Family Farm on Ballenger Creek Pike, and then for many years he was employed with Genstar, Redland, Lafarge and Etzler's in the paving division. He was also employed with Western Maryland Wholesaler's and Creasey's in Frederick, Hiltner's Furniture Store, General Sanitation and after his retirement he worked for the South Mountain Creamery.

      He was a member of the Brunswick Eagle's and a former member of the Patriotic Club.

      Jim enjoyed driving his truck, eating at Restaurants with buffets, dancing, hunting, Sheetz Coffee, playing the Maryland Lottery and scratch off tickets, and mowing his grass. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them, and being outdoors.

      Surviving in addition to his wife are six children, Ralph E. Bolyard and wife Nancy Jane of New Windsor, Lois Kegley and husband John of Hedgesville, W.Va., Sandy Harris and husband Homer "Puncher," and Rita Adkins and husband Mike, all of Ladiesburg, Tony Bolyard and wife Stephanie of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Jimmy Bolyard and wife Annie of Hedgesville, W.Va.; two step children, Wanda Webber of Keedysville and Larry Wayne Fraley of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; 24 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Betty Kline of Taneytown and Lillie Six of Hagerstown.

      He will also be remembered by his former wife, Kathleen V. McDonald of Woodsboro, and his pet dog Hooch.

      He was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Bolyard and Virgil Bolyard, and three sisters, Alice Allison, Wanda Vance and Reva Bolyard.

      The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m., in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. J. Clyde Brooks, pastor of New Hope Bible Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

      Pallbearers will be Ralph E. Bolyard Jr., Gary Adkins, John W. Kegley Jr., James W. Bolyard Jr., Homer E. "PJ" Harris Jr., Anthony W. Bolyard Jr., Eric B. Bolyard, Brian A. Bolyard, Shane Webber, Jeffrey Howdyshell and Homer "Puncher" Harris.

      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
