      On Friday morning last, a half past seven o'clock after a protracted illness, Mrs. Anna Paine Cutts, wife of Richard Cutts, Esq., late 2d Comptroller of the Treasury.

      Anna Payne was the daughter of John Payne and Mary Coles and a younger sister of Dolley Payne, who wed James Madison, the 5th President of the US. On 31 Mar 1804 she wed Richard Cutts, a US Representative from Maine. They lived in Washington, DC and had 7 children.
