Funeral services were held from the New Jerusalem Lutheran church, Lovettsville, August 5 by the Rev. Michael W. Kretsinger and Dr. William A Wade for Mrs. Carrie Maud Virts, 81, who died August 3 in an Arlington hospital. Mrs. Virts had been a resident of Lovettsville for 79 years and for the last two years had made her home with her son George in Falls Church. She had been an active member of the New Jerusalem Lutheran church for 7 years. He parents were the late Daniel and Ida Bowers Frye and she was the widow of George Hampton Virts Sr. Her survivors besides her son, George are one brother, Elmer Fyre of Absicon, N.J., and two sisters Mrs. Hauer Myers, Washington and Mrs. Lillie Fawley, Jefferson, Md. Interment was made in the Union cemetery. Pallbearers were Edgar Graham, Walter Williams, Thomas Mentzer, Leslie Orrison, John Rickard and Ernest Graham.
