- Frank Hoins, 71, of Fairfield died Saturday at the Nuckolls County Hospital. Mr. Hoins was a native of Oak and was raised in the Bostwick community where he attended school. He farmed in Nuckolls, Loup and Custer counties until 1948 when he moved to Fairfield where he was employed by the Chicago Lumber Company and Morrison-Quirk Grain Corporation until his retirement in 1960.
He was married to Myrtle Avers of Edgar on June 14, 1923.
Mr. Hoins was a member of he (sic) Community Presbyterian Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 128 of Fairfield.
Survivors are wife, Myrtle; six daughters, Mrs. Lyle Dilsaver (Ione) of Taylor, Mrs. Rex Shubert, jr., (Elaine) of Fairfield, Mrs. Glen Hatridge (Helen) of Colorado Springs, Mrs. Roger Allbee (Karolyn) of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Leslie Hubl (Rosalee) of Omaha, and Mrs. Ralph Savage (Judy) of Wichita; five sons, Robert and Gordon of Fairfield, Marvin of Kansas City, Larry Dean of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and John of Grand Island; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tumbleson, Mrs. Bernice Barfknecht and Mrs. Fern Laird of Superior and Mrs. Loren Bailey of Guide Rock; two brothers, Clifford of Davenport and Dan of Guide Rock; 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m., in the City Auditorium in Fairfield with Rev. R. Keith Roumpf officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery. The McLauglin Funeral Home of Clay Center was in charge of arrangements.
