Abstract--age 83, resident of Newburg, died at 1 a.m. Sunday (May 18) at Nellie's Rest Home at Parsons. She was the wife of the late Frank Shay, who died in 1943. She is survived by five daughters; Mrs. Ada Pyles of Star City, Mrs. Grace Keener of Tunnelton, Mrs. Ardy (should be Artie L.) R. Andrews of Grafton and Mrs. Nellie Williams and Mrs. Vonda Taylor of Newburg; three sons, Arbra (should be Aubry) of North Carolina, Charles of Athens, O., and Ezra of Tunnelton; a brother, Phillip Carnes (should be Combs) of Belington; and two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda McCarthy of Thornton and Mrs. Ethel Canfiled of Grafton. Burial was in Shay's Chapel Cemetery.
