Elbert Franklin Virts was born June 2, 1888 in Loudoun County Virginia to James Marion and Mary Elisabeth Leigh Virts. He married Myrtle Viola Riley on December 21, 1910. She was born March 2, 1896 in Loudoun County Virginia and died April 7, 1954 in Lovettsville, Virginia. Both are buried in Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery in Lovettsville Virginia.
Their children from above picture: Charles Clifford Virts, Irene Rose Virts, was born April 14, 1914 in Lovettsville, Virginia and died March 14, 1988 in Leesburg, Virginia. She married Monroe E. Coffman was born October 26, 1910 in Lovettsville, Virginia and died January 23, 1996 in Leesburg, Virginia. Both are buried in Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery in Lovettsville Virginia. Catherine Josephine Virts was born January 12, 1924 in Lovettsville, Virginia and died July 20, 2009 in Leesburg, Virginia. She is buried in Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery in Lovettsville Virginia

Mr. Elbert Franklin Virts, 89 of Lovettsville, Va., husband of the late Myrtle Riley Virts, died Monday, Oct. 3 at the Loudoun Memorial Hospital, Leesburg, Va. He was the son of the late Marion and Mary Elizabeth Leigh Virts. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Lovettsville, Va. He is survived by two daughters; Miss Catherine Virts, at home and Mrs. Irene Coffman, Leesburg, Va.; three sons, Ernest Virts, Paeonian Springs, Va., Leroy Virts, Frederick and Clifford Virts, Brunswick. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Methodist Cemetery in Lovettsville.
Notes:
Nicknamed "Snowball" for his head of white hair, lived on the Long Lane, Lovettsville, Virginia until 1969 when he had public sale and moved to the town of Lovettsville. He lived with his daughter Catherine, who was blinded from insecticide spray at the Loudoun Orchard, until his death. He worked on farms and did various carpentry work. Elbert's home place owned by Mr. Buckley at the time, burned down in the late 1970's.
