Mr. Richard Carlton "Dick" Clevenger, 74, formerly of Brunswick, died Thursday, May 8 at St. Catherines Nursing Center, Emmitsburg after a long illness.
Born May 3, 1928 in Frederick, he was a son of the late Thomas Walter and Melva Lillian Baker Clevenger.
Mr. Clevenger served in the Army during World War II. He had been employed as a truck driver for many years.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas Clevenger and wife Betty, and Robert Clevenger all of Point of Rocks, and Earl Clevenger of Monrova; a daughter, Betty Clevenger; three brothers, Charles Clevenger and wife Myrtle of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., George Clevenger and wife Clara of Frederick, and Gene Clevenger of Adamstown; five sisters, Elizabeth Hanes and husband John of Adamstown, Janet Testa and husband Carl of Florida, Nancy Jones of Florida, Bernice Shultz of West Virginia and Margie Harding and husband Billy of West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher, Jennifer, Richard, Malinda, Robert Clevenger, Jr. and Stephanie Clevenger Adams; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Frederick funeral home of Robert E. Daily and Son handle arrangements.
