Mr. Roy Eugene Virts, husband of Rms. Della Irene Sheets Virts, who resided at 12 James Street, died Tuesday morning at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lovettsville, on July 1, 1894, the son of the late George W. and Levia Roller Virts.
Mrs. Virts was retired from City of Frederick whre he was employed for 25 years as a shop mechanic. In later years Mr. Virts was self-employed as a carpenter.
Surviving him besides his wife are the following children; George F. Virts and Mrs. Mildred Simpson, Lovettsville; step-sons; Austin Young, George Young both of Frederick and Francis Young, Germany; step-daughters, Mrs. Austin Rice, Frederick, Mrs. John Main, York, Pa. and Mrs. James Brown, Madison, Va. One brother, Lloyd Virts, Lovettsville, two sisters; Mrs. Pauline Green and Mrs. Virginia Nelson, both of Lovettsville; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the M. R. Etchison and Son Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, today and Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert F. Woodward, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
