  Frederick New-Post, April 12, 2005 Mrs. Evelyn Marie Jarvis, 84, of Adamstown, died on Sunday, April 10 at Kline Hospice House, Mount Airy. She was the wife of the late Elmer T. Jarvis, who died in 1998. Born on June 2, 1920 in Hamilton, Va., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mazie Longerbean Virts. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Jarvis was a member of Ridgeville Pentecostal Church in Mount Airy. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her vegetable garden and loved her cats. Surviving are 11 children, Lee Jarvis and wife Linda of Monrovia, Ann Koontz and husband Dick of Jefferson, Evelyn Fox of Sabillasville, Larry Jarvis and wife Nancy of Walkersville, Judy Knight and husband Gene of Mount Airy, Kitty Knight and husband Ernie of Mount Pleasant, Donald Jarvis and wife Sue of Adamstown, Bobby Jarvis and wife Doreen of Frederick, Linda Abrecht and husband Frank of Walkersville, June Jarvis and husband Thomas Abrecht of Mount Pleasant and Sibby Summers and husband Roy of Frederick; 36 grandchildren; as well as numerous great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jarvis was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Nicholas Jarvis; and two sisters, Dorothy Nokes and Helen Cole. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 14 with her pastor, the Rev. Ernest Knight, officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, with Darren Jarvis, Mike Abrecht, Jeff Abrecht, Brian Kidd, Dwayne Knight, Ernie Knight Jr., Jessie Burriss Jr. and Robert Jarvis Jr. serving as pallbearers.
