Mary J. E. Baker, age 98, died Thursday, July 28 at her home in Taylorstown, Va. She was born April 3, 1907 in Loudoun County, Va., to the late Wilmer and Elsie Demory. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clark Baker Sr. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Mount Pleasant Church in Taylorstown. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Allen and Kathryn Baker of Taylorstown; sons Clark Baker Jr. of Taylorstown, and Renice E. Baker of Leesburg, Va.; brother Floyd Demory of Taylorstown; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and caretaker Alma M. Miller of Purcellville, Va. The family will receive friends at Hall Funeral Home of Purcellville from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 31. Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, with Pastor Gay L. Tonelli and James Moats officiating at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Taylorstown. Interment will follow in Lovettsville Union Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert L. Baker, John C.. Baker, Allen Baker Jr., Eugene Baker, Steven Baker and Edward Lee Baker. Honorary Pallbearers include Wayne Demory and George Harwood. Memorial contributions may be given to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 41799 Stumptown Road, Leesburg, VA 20176 or The Hospices of the National Capital Region, 6565 Arlington Blvd., Suite 501, Fairfax, VA 22042. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, Va.
