Michael D. Overfelt, 51, 13876 N. 400 West, died at 11:29 a.m. Saturday at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1959, in Crawfordsville, Ind., to Augustine George Overfelt Jr. and Peggy Peace.
He married Jill Silvers on July 23, 1988, in Nappanee. She survives.
Also surviving are sons Brent (Jamie) Stouder, Nappanee, and Bart (Jackie) Stouder, Milford; grandchildren Steven, Morgan, Jessie and Emily Stouder, all of Nappanee, and Brianna, Jaydin and Sydney Stouder, all of Milford; his father and stepmother, Augustine George and Pat Overfelt, Granite City, Ill.; sisters Debbie Smith, Indianapolis, Darla (Odell) Frasure, Milford, and Marcia (Marty) Nading, Indianapolis; and a brother, Dan (Kathy) Overfelt, Waynetown.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Snyder; and a sister, Marlene Overfelt.
Overfelt had worked for 15 years at Fairmont Homes and seven years at Hart Housing in Wakarusa. For the last five years, he was a Goshen News carrier serving Nappanee and Wakarusa.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee. The Rev. Janet McFall-Brown will lead the service.
